Employment Solicitor

As an Employment Solicitor joining our growing team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, build strong relationships, and develop your career as part of one of the largest Employment teams in Leeds.

Our team works with owner managed businesses, HR professionals and individuals, providing clear, practical employment law advice at reasonable and realistic prices. Our clients work across a range of sectors, including retail, professional services, manufacturing, hospitality, and tech.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

‍

•Deal with client enquiries and taking initial instructions.

•Advise on, drafting, and negotiating settlement agreements.

•Conduct litigation (on behalf of employers and employees) in the employment tribunal, including conducting advocacy if required.

•Host seminars and assisting with team networking and BD events.

•Prepare contracts of employment, directors service agreements, and staff handbooks.

•Provide corporate support for commercial transactions (including preparation of related employment documentation and advising on TUPE issues).

•Advise on general employment issues such as disciplinary, grievance, and redundancy issues.

• Build trusted relationships with clients, taking the time to understand their businesses, priorities, and challenges.

• Share your knowledge by hosting seminars and getting involved in networking and business development events.

We’re looking for an Employment Solicitor with at least one year’s experience who’s ready to develop their career as part of a busy and supportive team. Ideally, you’ll have a strong understanding of employment tribunal litigation and procedure, as well as:

‍

• Feel confident working directly with clients and providing clear, commercial, and practical advice.

• Be comfortable managing a busy caseload, prioritising your work and responding quickly when clients need you.

• Enjoy building strong client relationships and becoming a trusted adviser.

• Work well as part of a team while feeling confident using your own initiative.

• Stay calm under pressure and have a keen eye for detail.

• Be organised and responsive, managing a busy caseload and delivering what you promise, even when deadlines are tight.

• Be keen to learn, share ideas, and continue developing as an employment lawyer.
