We have expertise in advising clients on the full range of licensing matters: from renewals and transfers of existing licences to strategic advice on contested new applications.

For liquor licensing, we help clients to transfer existing licences and obtain new licences to sell alcohol either on or off the premises. We also advise numerous current licence holders on what steps they need to take to comply with the new Licensing Act and how they can extend their opening hours. Clients range from pub operators to members clubs, bars and restaurants.

For betting licensing, we advise on every stage of the application procedure ensuring that local licensing policies and the statutory procedures are complied with. We also have experience of dealing with objections both from the betting trade as well as local residents.

We work closely with our property team as many of our clients require expertise in both these disciplines. Our property practice has extensive experience of working on leisure related developments be they conversions of existing units or new build premises.
